AEC
ARE LEADERS IN ASBESTOS RISK MANAGEMENT
We Create Safer Spaces for Business & Workers
WHAT WE DO FOR YOU
AEC has been involved in Occupational Hygiene & Safety, including the Asbestos Industry for over 40 years.
We act as trusted advisors for our clients, who are fully supported by our Worksafe Licensed Asbestos Assessors and Former NZ Government Health and Safety Inspectors.
Whether you have a significant or minor asbestos issue, no job is too big or too small, for the AEC team.
ASBESTOS MANAGEMENT & SURVEYS
Managing your risks
All owners, managing agents, leasing agents, principal contractors, occupiers, employers and employees should be aware of their obligations under the asbestos regulations to ensure compliance and safety in the workplace.
A register of asbestos must be prepared following an asbestos survey or audit for asbestos by persons competent and qualified to conduct the inspection, risk assessment and provide information and guidance on remediation and management.
An asbestos management plan (AMP) must be developed that provides the building occupants, employees and contractors or anyone who may come into contact with these items with detailed information on how to manage asbestos. AEC provide these services nationally NZ wide.
AIRBORNE FIBRE MONITORING & CLEARANCES
Providing Assurance
Following the removal of asbestos, and prior to re-occupation WorkSafe NZ guidelines require a satisfactory independent visual inspection and clearance air monitoring by one of our Worksafe Licensed Asbestos Assessors.
Before clearance is granted for an asbestos work area to be re-occupied a thorough clearance inspection must be conducted and the requirement for air monitoring determined by a competent person independent of the removal contractor.
Clearances have been undertaken across NZ in Auckland, Tauranga, Christchurch, Wellington and Whangarei.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT & CONSULTING
Work With Experts
Once ACM has been identified, the decision towards the next step can often be a daunting one even for the experienced project manager.
AEC offers advice and consultation on best value approaches to asbestos removal and remediation, including analysis of the ongoing costs of management, the viability of encapsulation and other management options, and the long term benefits of removal. If work is needed, we can compile and issue tender documents to reputable licensed asbestos removal contractors.
Projects have been completed nationwide in both domestic and commercial premises.
TRAINING AND AWARENESS
Engage your staff
AEC can provide information, instruction and training for asbestos awareness. This is intended to give workers and supervisors the information they need to avoid work that may disturb asbestos or identify potential asbestos materials before these are disturbed, or any other items which might contain asbestos.
Training is bespoke, and is designed to meet our clients specific requirements cognisant of their portfolio and specific circumstances.
ASBESTOS TESTING
Know your hazards
When you have materials that may contain asbestos, whether in a domestic or commercial property in the Auckland region, it is recommended that you have a sample analysed to positively confirm whether or not asbestos is present.
You cannot tell by visual inspection that a product does not contain asbestos. Following a positive identification, it may, for the purposes of reassuring personnel, be prudent to conduct airborne fibre monitoring to assess airborne fibre levels in the vicinity.
